My Keurig single serve coffee maker behaves irrationally and requires some roughing up mid-brew, so I decided to look for a cheaper working alternative. I don’t drink coffee every day, so 1. The Keurig shouldn’t have had the problems it was having being between 1-2 years old, and 2. I wasn’t willing to invest a lot in another coffee maker for 2-3 coffees per week.
I chose this machine, because it takes the Kcup refillable inserts which I already own – and also the pods that my parents use when they come. It also has no water “reservoir” that stores water between uses – which was #1 importance to me. Since I don’t have a constant flow of coffee coming out of the machine, reservoirs get stagnant and then you end up ingesting that bacteria. Just pour in the amount of water you want to come out as coffee, and that’s how much coffee you get! I typicall do about 6-8 ounces – but I noticed my mom made a 12 oz cup the other morning, so it’s possible to have a big cup.
I will say I like this better than the Keurig single serve (model from a year ago, not the new one). The size is much smaller on my countertop. It’s short and fits in a smaller space. Love that. It’s attractive, and it’s intuitive to use. Unlike the Keurig where you have to open one spot to pour in the water before you put the Kcup in so the water can then drain – the entire top of this machine opens up. The water just goes right down inside immediately – no second step required. You can refill the pod first or second – so no process to follow. You choose the amount of water you put in, add the coffee pod, close the lid and hit the button. You’ll have freshly brewed coffee within 3 minutes.
I feel the flavor of the coffee is the same as before – though it might brew a little slower than the Keurig – but we’re talking 1 minute or so… I can wait and save money.
I highly recommend this unit! It’s super for small spaces, traveling (where you don’t want to carry a coffee maker full of water), and especially if you don’t want to risk a reservoir of stagnant water forming on your counter with bacteria. I hope this lasts a long time -but even if it lasts as long as the Keurig did – I’m still coming out ahead!

I actually love this more then my old Keurig. Just pour some water in your cup to the amount you want and hit the button. No menus or pre determine stuff and none of the software stuff that prevents you from using any pod you want.
This does make the water super hot so please keep that in mind. A Keurig is cold compared to this little monster but, it does take it a bit to heat up the water before brewing.
TLDR: 100% recommend over any other brand at a great price.

I ordered this brewer, after reading many positive reviews. I especially like that the water I add is used immediately and doesn¡¯t sit in the brewer. The flavor is good from Keurig pods,, the water could be a tad warmer,, I love the small amount of counter space it occupies. The price is 1/3 of my last coffee brewer, that one lasted less than a year. So far, I am a happy customer.

We purchased this one cup coffee maker when we were frustrated with the unreliability of the slim Keurig model we had purchased for almost $100. This Chulux model is far more modestly priced than the Keurig and we have found it to be more reliable and easier to use. It is simple to set up. The area where you pour in the water is sufficiently large to avoid spilling water. After several months of use, we have not had any problem with the unit. Trim and a space saver, It has a small footprint on the countertop which was a deciding factor in our purchase. It is used several times per day for mid-morning and afternoon coffee breaks. I would recommend this unit to anyone who has expecting light residential use. I cannot comment on how well the unit is designed to withstand heavy usage, as in a office setting.

This K-cup coffeemaker makes a very decent cup of coffee. You can tailor the strength of the brew by adding less water to make it stronger or more water to make the coffee a little less strong (but not more water than your cup or mug can hold.)

Update: I bought this is February and now it has started leaking just a few months later in June. It¡¯s leaking from all sides. I can¡¯t recommend this coffee maker at all.
I¡¯m the only person who drinks coffee in my house, and I only drink one cup, so I needed a single-cup brewer. This uses K-cups just fine, but I bought the refillable cups and I fill them with my own coffee. This machine is compatible with the reusable K-cups sold on Amazon – just search for them.
Operating the device is easy. Pour the water, drop in the K-cup, close lid, press button. Done. My only complaint (and why it gets 4 stars instead of 5) is that it seems to vary in how long it takes to brew coffee. It¡¯s not very fast. It is also not quite as hot as I would like (but I want scalding coffee so that¡¯s just me probably).
Overall, good value and great purchase if you only drink coffee sometimes or only one cup a day.

Due to reviews saying it gave coffee plastic taste, I did six cycles of clear, filtered water through it before trying a pod. Coffee tasted fine. Second pod tasted just as good. Purchased this to use in our little teardrop camper so size was a factor as well as the amp usage. This one will do quite nicely. Update: first use in camper! I didn¡¯t figure the height correctly and the camper hatch door now has a small scrape where the finished is scraped up from the wood. Coffee maker is now a little hard to open, but it still works, and coffee still tastes great. I am still pleased with this coffeemaker, just figuring out a different place to stash it in camper! And plans for some cool decals to cover that scrape!
